Antique Side Table

She is finally done! I've actually been "done" with this piece for some time now, but waxing is definitely my least favorite part of the equation so I've been putting the last finishing touch off for some time. Well, I finally decided to go ahead and finish this baby off so here she is....

Check out more pictures of this cute side table / night stand in my portfolio! As I mentioned in previous posts, my pieces are not actively for sale across local websites but this, along with other vintage finds, will all be for sale soon!

Vintage Found

This past Saturday I spent my entire morning going to countless of thrift shops and other stores along the way looking for pieces that caught my eye. Here's one that I found that I've already started working on. Pictures of the finished product will be posted soon! I almost forgot to take the before pictures - I remembered only after sanding.

Rocking Chair Re-do

I found a great rocking chair with a high back some days ago and thought it would go perfect in our guest bedroom. I have been looking for an occasional chair to fill one of the corners for some time and a good one finally came along!
Before
I knew I wanted to paint it black and do just a minimal amount of distressing. This chair was a bit of an experiment though because I decided to make my own chalk paint! You can make your own by following this "recipe." The first coat turned to be a deep charcoal rather than the black that I was going for.... (Although you'll have to trust me on this one since it looks pretty black on the picture)
During
So... I decided to go back to the paint store for the blackest black and try again! And after a bit of distressing, staining, waxing, and buffing... here is the final product:
After

Make sure to check out more pictures of this, and other projects, under the Portfolio tab!

Vintage Found

This past weekend I found this fantastic tall dresser at a thrift store in town. And thank you, thank you, thank you to my friend Emily for allowing me to drag her down with me in my husband's pick up to help me bring it back home. You see... I still haven't mastered the skill of manual driving so I have a perfectly good truck sitting in the driveway while tons of beautiful pieces get purchased before I can find one of my lucky friends to take me wherever a piece may be! Needless to say, I am so happy I was able to snatch this one up all to myself before anyone else did. I can't wait to start working on it soon!

I won't begin to market/sell my pieces on local websites until I've acquired a good amount of inventory, but they will still be able to be seen here in The Market for anybody that may be interested. :)

Welcome to my Blog!

Hi Everyone, and welcome to my blog! Here is where I will post pictures of the furniture pieces that I find and restore. I love to go to consignment stores, thrift shops, and search across the internet for interesting pieces to which I can give a new life. I will post pictures of my past and current projects and give you a chance to purchase my one-of-a-kind creations! I've been working on some pieces recently so I'll have pictures of those up soon enough.

You'll notice that the quality of my pictures will change soon because I will be getting a new camera in the near future! I am pretty excited! My husband and I will be traveling to Europe soon and I told him I needed a quality camera to take with us. I'm going to be getting it a tad bit early so I can start "practicing," and in the meantime take countless of pictures of my finds as I go along.

This blog is a work in progress and it is the very first blog I've ever started, so you may need to bare with me for some of it. Hopefully you love my work and don't hesitate to comment on my blog postings!
